Bowen Farm is nestled at the base of the Blue Ridge
Mountains and is located one mile west of the village of Crozet
in Western Albemarle County. This property is the essence of Virginia
Country life in the Piedmont with its combination of a classically
inspired farmhouse, rich green fields, and spectacular mountain
views. Over half of the 195+/- acre property is open, fertile
pastureland with the remainder comprised of well-established hardwood
forests. The hardwoods surrounding most of the property create
a valley of rolling fields with several rock outcroppings. There
are three significant and active streams flowing through the property
that provide ample running water and the opportunity to create
a significant lake. The beautifully fenced open land is currently
operating as a cattle farm although the topography lends itself
to a variety of uses including viticulture. Dependencies on the
main farm include numerous sheds, a small stucco barn, and a stone
garage. A Conservation Easement with the Virginia Outdoors Foundation
continues the farm's history for future generations.
